This Moment.....

Apple Blossom

This moment... I am enjoying, loving and staring at it through the french doors... the apple blossom on my little apple tree.  It is a Cox's Orange Pippin and we planted it the spring before Rufus was born (about 3 years ago).

Rufus' tree sign (if you are into such a thing) is Apple.  So we thought it right to plant this tree when we knew he was on his way, so to speak.

It has thrived in our little courtyard, and this year in particular it is blossoming with gusto.  We are so excited and hope for a bumper crop of juicy crisp apples in September.

Did anyone see Alys Fowlers The Edible Garden last night?  She made some dried apple rings (amongst some other interesting fruit recipes). So if we do get a glut (fingers crossed) then I will have a go at drying them ala Miss Fowler.

But thats a whole summer away, so for now I will continue to gaze dreamily at the pale pink blooms before they fade.  Beautiful.
