This weekend we have spent more time at the allotment in months.  A new month a new chapter kind of thing.  Poor lottie has been a little neglected of late.  We have made quick dashes up there in the evening to water and pick mange tout & broad beans, but other than that no real gardening has happened.

So yesterday we packed at scumptious lunch of mozzarella, french bread, chorizo, and lots of apple juice and headed off to the plot.... my family cannot under any circumstance contemplate going to the allotment without a supply of food and drink... otherwise all manner of moaning and wingeing would happen... and thats just Dan!

Anyhow... first thing on the agenda (for me anyway) is to look at all, survey our handiwork and take photos.

Back in early spring I decided the allotment need a cutting garden, somewhere I could grow masses of flowers for having in the home as well as making our lottie a beautiful as well as a productive space... my oh my, it looks wonderful!

Our first sunflower, feverfew, cosmos & cornflower.. all sown from seed.

Whist Rufus and I prettied around, gazing at the wonderment (is this such a word?) of it all Dan and Charlie set to 'man work'!  There are potatoes to be dug.

Charlie loved helping Daddy dig and load them into his green wheelbarrow.

Charlottes - pretty tasty too!

Charlie finding treasure... Anya Potatoes.

Still on our weekend of firsts...

You beauty!

Yes this is me making lamb kebabs.. ahem!

Boys loved hanging out with their friends Jimmy & Edie

And as if by magic, as the sun was slowly going behind the hill the Balloons came to play..

We heart our lottie!

What a great weekend... hope you all had an awesome one too... here's to many more.
