Enchanted Christmas

This evening we braved the icy conditions and went on an adventure to see the Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum.

It was only decided late this afternoon that we were actually going to go... and after the cabin fever of a day, we really did need to get out and have some fun.

We wrapped up warm, wearing thermals, PJ's,thick jumpers, coats & hats.  Packed the shovel, sleeping bags, sledge and sandwiches (all expeditions should have jam sandwiches).

And set off into the night... the snow glinting in the moonshine.

The Enchanted Christmas took us through the arboretum.  Trees were lit up in reds and greens.  Glitter balls were hung high up in branches, so that the lights floated around like fairies dancing.

The neon toadstools reminded me of my past life and many a full moon party!

Despite the cold, cold temperature the lights & colour was breathtaking.

With bellies full of hot homemade tomato soup, the boys and their cousins had a ride on the merry-go-round.  Charlie chose the Cockrell and Rufus the Peacock.

If you have a chance over the Christmas period, I would so recommend you going.

Such a beautiful experience.

We did meet Father Christmas.. he was wearing a green cloak to show his love for the trees!
(my kinda man).
