What a year... 2010

A small look back at some of our years highlights...

Allotment:  This was our very first year as allotmenteers. We spent the first few months of 2010 clearing the site and dreaming of summer picnics there eating our fresh salads.

I was surprised at how much we fell in love with the lottie, it is wonderful to have a space to call our own. We spent most of our spare time there during the summer, mainly having picnics, wild adventures and eating the fruits of our labour.

Blog: Little Green Shed started back in March, as a diary on the allotment progress. But it has grown into so much more. More of a creative outlet and a diary of family life.  I cannot believe you wonderful people would want to read my ramblings and my heart leaps when I see a comment has been left!  THANKYOU!

I love to blog.  It has helped me to grow creatively, I now see the world through different eyes and mainly now through the view finder of my Nikon D70!

This year I have re-discovered my creative juice.  So much inspiration and encouragement on blogland which just makes me want to make things, take photos and see more wonderful things.

I have made friends with my sewing machine, knitted booties for babies and have fallen in love with photography.  I have made Jam, chutney, plum brandy, Christmas Cake, Sloe Gin, Clementine Curd..the list goes on!  I even won 3rd prize for my Strawberry Jam at the local village fete.

Charlie started school this September.  My little man became a bigger boy and is positively thriving on school life.  Rufus learnt to ride his balance bike with such success, the little daredevil!

I became involved with the school PTA and helped with the school craft fair, sell Christmas trees and serve the school Christmas dinner.

Many adventures we have had this year...camping, holidaying in Cornwall, visiting the Eden project, day trips to woods, Tyntesfield Estate, the Enchanting Westonbirt.  Picnicing, walking & bike riding as much as we could.

Dan took part in his first Mountain Bike Race since having the children.  First of many, it has forged his love of Mountain Biking forever more!

It's been a year of change in our family, and with the usual few wobbles along the way, all in all I think 2010 has been good to us.

I am already planning what to do with the allotment, where to go on holiday and how I would like this blog to grow.

Sadly goodbye 2010, and hello to a fresh & exciting New Year.
