January manifesto...

This months manifesto.
I really DO need to plant my garlic at the allotment.
Please someone drag me there, but the weather is just so awfully wet at the moment.  My logic for not planting yet is they will rot in the ground.  Sounds logical doesn't it?
And the main thing - Stay Positive.
The January blues are NOT welcome here!

  2. From someone who has spent all day cold and wet on a veg farm, i would say, stay inside in front of your woodburning stove!!

  4. loving your list, lou. It looks beautiful too! I managed to plant my garlic in the ground just before christmas. it is in a raise bed so praying it doesn't rot out. Totally agree it might in the normal ground though. It is WET out there!

  5. I love how you have these monthly lists. I think when you put them out on the web you somehow feel like someone will tell you off if you don't do them so feel more "motivated". I think your garlic logic sounds totally reasonable (although I have no idea about gardening so ...)

  6. I love this idea of a monthly manifesto. That way I guess you get to revisit your aspirations for life in general every single day. I hate to think I find January hard - I don't want to be one of 'those' people but actually I DO find it really hard. Compared to summer it is a trial. I don't want to 'get through it' either! I guess the trick is to stay healthy, get out and be creative. All encapsulated in the manifesto!!!

  7. Ooh I love this. I bought a pretty diary today and I thought I might make a bookmark with my new years resolutions on and use that as a placeholder. Something like this would be great!

  8. Maybe you could plant the garlic at the end of the month - might not be quite as cold??
Or tick two things off your list - and run a lap or two around the allotment while you plant your garlic.

  9. It's good to have a plan - I have loads of sticky notes to remind me of the things that need doing. Will they get done? Hmmm... Time will show.

    P.S. Great photograph!
