Last Tuesday, Charlie was invested into his local Beaver Colony.
He is now a squirrel.
And proud he is too in his uniform.
He will hopefully learn lots of interesting new skills.
I will be sewing on lots of badges to his sweatshirt from now on!
He loves going to Beavers, hanging out with boys from other school's and most are older than him too.
Their favourite thing to do is run around the room really fast and skid on their knees.
Boys eh?!
x
Gratefuls:
1. Great local theatre's
2. Cool city to live in
3. ice pops in the freezer
Sounds like you'll be sewing patches on knees too! Congratulations Charlie :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea, I did think the very same. It's there levelling of the playfield so to speak. Boys aged 6-8 all needing to be friends but haven't got the confidence to chat.. so running and sliding on knees is their form of greeting. x
DeleteWell done Charlie- does he girls at his colony too? x
ReplyDeleteNo not at this one. There is Beavers Sea Scouts nearby that does take girls. Is Flora thinking of joining one?
Deleteso, so adorable! way to go charlie!
ReplyDeleteHi Marci, thank you! x
DeleteHow lovely! My husband was in one of the first colony's and is still a leader now. Its a family business, his Grandmother is about to go to a garden party at Buckingham Palace for services to the Scouting movement. I suspect there is no way out for our daughter!
ReplyDeleteWow Abigail, that's so cool. I think scouts & Guides movements are a really good positive thing. I enjoyed Brownies when I was a girl. x
DeleteGenius! Go Charlie x
ReplyDeleteThanks Nell. How's your gorgeous girl? x
Deletecute!! i have a pic like this of my son at Beavers and at cubs (he has been there almost 2 years now)
ReplyDeleteI think scouting is so good for kids!!
Hi, yes I think it's good for kids too. They learn new skills and also respect. The leaders of ours are really military in their approach (something I thought I and Charlie would hate), but they all love going there. x
DeleteFinn was a beaver - loved it. Last week he swam up to cubs. Man he feels important.
ReplyDeleteAh Finn the big boy! Yes I can see Charlie going all the way through now. x
DeleteNow that is cute. My daughter starts Rainbows in May. I don't know who is more excited, her or me!
ReplyDeleteHi Gillian, I know it's a very exciting time! Just be prepared for lots of sewing! x
DeleteGo Charlie! He looks proud as punch, as I'm sure do you. Xx
