Summer in Somerset

After filling the car with lilacs and roses we headed on through the leafy Somerset lanes to The Ethicurean.  A much loved place for Lottie and I.  It was so warm it felt like we were in the South of France.  Bees buzzed around the lavender, and buzzard soared in the sky.
We decided on a simple yet delicious ploughmans washed down with cooling spritzers.  Even our salad had small borage flowers.
Such a wonderful day... it is what summer is meant for.

The Ethicurean are having their Summer Solstice feast tonight - if you would like to go please have a look at their website.

You can also win a copy of their wonderful cookbook and see for yourself how utterly gorgeous this place is - go over here to enter.
