Crantock Beach...

Crantock Beach is a 15 minutes walk from Trevella Park.  A pleasant amble through farmers fields and over stiles, until you eventually reach the river estuary which, on low tide, you can walk out to sea.

We cheated and drove, (there is always so much kit to take to the beach!) parking in the National Trust car park, trekked over the steep sand dunes, to be greeted by a vast white sandy bay.  We settled on the edge of the river bank, gentle sloping walls down to the water, warmed by the sun.  Water shallow enough for the boys to paddle and roll around without us worrying about them too much.

Dan took the boys on a crab hunt up the river, turning over random rocks searching.  Whist I dozed under the parasol reading a book.

By the evening the tide began to turn and the estuary quickly filled up with sea water.  Kayaks and fishing boats followed the tide in, whilst jet ski's and speed boats sped the other way for an evening carving up the ocean.

We sat spellbound by the scene, gentle lapping water, people playing cricket, beach bbq's being lit.  A perfect summers day.

(if you are wondering what Rufus is doing, he is practicing his Ninja moves!).

We stayed at Trevella Park.
