Friends who you haven't met...

I have been doing this blogging lark for 4 years now.  Four years next month.  Over this time I have made some wonderful connections, mainly on-line, such this is the nature of this blogging thing.  From very early on, I made good friends with Fran (Mrs Eliot Books), knowing we had a similar sense of humour, outlook and creative mind.  I've been lucky to meet this wonderful woman on many occasions, all brief, all too far apart.

So when Fran suggested meeting a wider circle of blogger friends we all jumped at the chance.  Most of the people in London yesterday I have had many 'conversations' with on-line over the years and much admiration of their work and creativity.  Even so, meeting your peers is everso nerve wracking.  In fact, sitting at the table in the Italian restaurant I whispered to Fran 'I feel a little star struck!'.

There on my table sat witty, talented, creative intelligent women, all nattering away like old friends.  Drinking red wine, laughing at stories, sharing deep secrets and bonding.  It was the best kind of day.

You are all pretty awesome... and let's make a date to meet up in a late Spring.  My patch please!

Yesterday I was with:  Xanthe / Camilla / Fran / Flo / Eloise / Rachel & Jen.

(these are the only photos I took.  Both on instagram, both in the stunning Persephone Books on Lambs Conduit Street).

camden passage & blog friends...

Yesterday I was lucky enough to visit London and spend a few hours with Kerry and Francesca.
It was my first time meeting them both, although we have become good blogging friends, we had not met in 'real' life.
I felt instantly welcome, like we were old friends.
They took me to Camden Passage in Islington, a place I had heard of but had never visited.
Shops were amazing, we went in and out of shops that I had heard of online or in magazines... such as Raystitch, Loop, smug  and twentytwentyone.
A shopping dream, although sadly my purse stayed in my pocket...
Over lunch we nattered about life, kids, blogging....everything.
And I came away feeling I had made 2 good friends indeed.
Thank you ladies... Bristol next time eh?

kind words...

The lovely Lisbeth over at Smilerynker has just posted about the set of my cards I sent her earlier this summer.
Thank you kind lovely lady for your beautiful words.  I think your blog is inspiring too.
I must say my cards look right at home amongst your beautiful things.
I am glad they will bring you summer sunshine in the dark winter months.
Please go and say hi to Lisbeth, her blog, family and home are truly gorgeous.

lovely prints & super surprises

A couple of weeks ago I bought this amazing print - Octons, from the talented Francesca over at Mrs Elliot Books.
It has been high on my wish list for ages since first seeing it over at Kerry's in little Berties bedroom.
I thought it would look perfect in my boys bedroom.  And I am delighted with how it looks.

Francesca's work is always catching my eye.  Her most recent chevrons prints will soon be in my home, once I saved some pennies! Dan will tell me off if I keep buying things!

Yesterday I received a super surprise in the post. The lovely and kind Francesca had posted me her new modernist card set.  I am over the moon!  She must know my love of mid century items.  I am going to frame them, too too gorgeous to give away.

Thank you lovely lady!

This weekend is the Southbank Arts Trail in our local neighbourhood.  I am super excited about nosing round the homes of artists... shame I can't buy anything!  Two friends of mine will be showing their work, Mel's Lino Prints will be at the Bedworkshop and Sam's papercuts will be at Paper Village.
Have a wonderful weekend!
